J. R. McConvey has worked as a print editor, documentary producer, VR director, educator, and digital strategist. He has been shortlisted for the Journey Prize and the Bristol Short Story Prize. His 2019 story collection, Different Beasts, won the Kobo Emerging Writer Prize for speculative fiction. He lives in Toronto.
